I have been flying since 1995. I wish I had ! I couldn't, so the nearest I got to the skies in my aircraft was flight simulation. One of the many flight sim games I bought: the good old days of DVDs and boxed games! This are my experiences of the past 30 years with this genre of gaming. As the fancy takes me, I fly free flight ( randomly anywhere in the world often without a flight plan); or a full 10 hour flight from Mumbai to London with all the bells and whistles and flightplans and ATC; or a bush trip to see the major sights anywhere in the world... The Pyramids of Giza : Still manage to awe everyone!

The Pyramids of Giza! The last surviving wonders of the ancient world. I had the chance to visit Giza/ Cairo way back in 2011. They look far more impressive close up, when you wonder how in the world did the ancients manage to haul such stones into this shape! The city of Cairo is now coming uncomfortably close to the plateau on which these pyramids stand, but on the other side is all desert. The Pyramids are so big and set high up that they are visible from all around the city. Makes for a dramatic contrast! There are three main pyramids, and the Sphinx, along with smaller pyramids. You can go inside the tombs for a separate fee. The history is well documented so I wont go into that here. As expected, there's a lot of hustling around this area- its always buyer beware here. That's a bit of a sad part here and to some extent in India as well. You always have to be on your guard even as you enjoy the Pyramids. Don't miss the light and sound show every evening unle...

Trip 3 / Tangier to Ceuta

Taking off from Tangier, I turned west following the coast of North Africa. Seen here are the Atlas mountains range, that extends all the way from Morocco before finally petering out in the deserts beyond Angeria and Tunisia. The weather remained cloudy and a bit windy - my little Cesena was tossed about a bit but nothing uncomfortable. All through the various legs, I tried to maintain 2000 ft AGL. Good enough to see the ground but high enough to avoid some mountains. Occasionally though, had to go as high as 3,500 feet around some peaks!
