From Sihag (HESG) , I now fly the leg to Luxor (HELX), another famous landmark city of legend in Egypt.
Luxor is one of the capitals of ancient Egypt, also known as Thebes. Luxor is famous for its valley of the kings and valley of the queens, where a series of tombs were found, many unfortunately looted, but one famous tomb sort of made up for all the angst. The almost complete, intact, unopened tomb of the boy king Tut-Ankh-Aman was discovered here by Howard Carter in 1922. Today the contents of the tomb are in the Cairo Museum, the most well-known being the mask of the king. Its a beautiful, very impressive work of gold and art ( I saw it on my visit to Cairo).

Also in Luxor are the open-air temples of Karnak and Luxor in the city. Unfortunately, Egypt has received no love from Microsoft Flight Simulator , nor from the many great scenery developers with the result that none of these landmarks are rendered well.
